I don't have all the answers, but here's what I found. I had the same problem of iPhone Notes that I type mysteriously appearing for a second, then disappearing. Would it be better to download an alternative Notes type application? If anyone has ideas what might be going on, I'd love to hear. I like using the Notes app, but am afraid to keep using it if the contents disappear without notice. The notes are not backed up often, as I only have to connect my iPod Touch to my laptop every few days or so for charging, but I often edit or add to notes several times a day. Needless to say, these notes are often creative ideas, spur of the moment lists, and other content that cannot be re-created. It has now happened two more times, seemingly at random. The first time it happened, I lost about 30 pages of notes. I have not been able to find this problem referred to in any Mac forum so far. The screen then says "No Notes." I have not touched the screen at all except to select the app from the home page.

Sometimes the solution is simple and requires you to track all changes made to the entire document including the reversal of any movememts you had made on the documents. From time to time, when I select Notes on my iPod Touch, the app opens, a keyboard comes up, and all of my Notes disappear (arrow keys at the top go gray). I then moved this document back to its organized folder and when opened, it opens with the annotated changes.

I moved the document in question back to downloads, then when I tried to save the pdf it saved just fine with all of my annotations. I could see the annotated sections and when I clicked on them I could see my notes, but no text. When I tried to save changes, it could not allow me to save, and then all the text on the pdf just disappeared. Previously this document was on Downloads (including when I began commenting and highlighting the pdf). I did some edits (mostly just highlighting an annotating for a presentation) on the document and then without closing the document, (because I wasn't done) I did some cleaning on my downloads, which involved moving my document on edit to a specific folder for easy retrival. I had opened up a PDF document on Adobe DC.
